 Much of my work loosely revolves around broad concepts of time and chance. By layering drawings and paintings cut and recombined over time, I seek out emerging patterns from the multitude of possible outcomes when destroying and rebuilding a final image. Primary elements in these pieces include repeating circular shapes and drip webs which represent organic growth, colonies, and a multable quality to life. The act of cutting and reconstructing ‘pieces of a whole’ mirror what i see as a contemporary way of understanding our increasingly complex world. |
